“I am a cultural explorer,” says Shawn Turung. “I paint stories and interpretations of the many things I find interesting. I make art that blends it all together, not exactly chaos, but considering it all.” Her Totem series involves both constructed geometric shapes, stacked, attached, appended and then integrated through the use of bold graphic marks and subtle surface treatment.  Shawn’s work in art restoration provides her with constant inspiration, challenging her to explore a broad spectrum of artistic styles and media.
