Ann Hosfeld is a graduate of Cooper Union in NYC where she studied primarily abstract painting and sculpture. After moving to California, she began painting tropical plants emphasizing light and shadow shapes, sometimes abstracted. In 1982, she moved to Santa Fe where her focus has been on the structure of desert plants, creating a series of agave cactus showing the subtle colors and plant forms of the Southwest.
