Reg Loving has shown extensively in Santa Fe and is well known for his early abstractions. His new landscape paintings, using acrylic and marble dust, have a sensuous texture and depth. He recently exhibited in an invitational show at the Museum of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Much of his new work consists of abstracted landscapes. He states: “New Mexico is a land steeped in myth and ancient cultures that have been influenced by the land. The Southwest has been described as an abstraction of the landscape because it is spare, delineated and defined by the intense light.”
