In celebration of the artist’s 80th birthday, New Concept Gallery is pleased to present a retrospective exhibition showcasing nearly five decades of Roger Arvid Anderson’s artwork. Anderson will join us for an opening reception on Friday, August 14, from 5-7 PM, one week after the show opens. Live music will be provided by Santa Fe-based classical guitarist Petra Babankova. The show can been viewed through Sunday, September 6, 2026, at New Concept Gallery, 610-A Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM.
About the artist: Roger Arvid Anderson
Minnesota native Roger Arvid Anderson has lived in San Francisco, California, since 1972. A multi-disciplinary artist, Anderson’s primary mediums are bronze sculpture and photography. He is also an accomplished poet. As a sculptor, Roger takes a “hands-on” approach to each step in the process, actively participating in the mold-making, casting, finishing and patination of each of his bronzes. In recent decades, Anderson’s artistic vision has been dramatically influenced by the beauty of New Mexico. RetroSpective will display a selection of Anderson’s works from the late 1970s through the current year, to include numerous bronze sculptures, as well as recent photographic studies of Georgia O’Keeffe’s Abiquiu studios and abstracted images of Santa Fe.
